Bats are of great ecological importance, mainly in pollinating flowers and spreading seeds, bats also reduce insect pests, reducing the need for pesticides.
In many cultures, bats are associated with darkness, malevolence, witchcraft, vampires and death.
I just find them endlessly fascinating and wonderful.
This bat is made to be on display on your wall, there is a hole on the back so you can use a nail in the wall to hang him on.
He is lightweight so a tiny nail or screw will do the job.
The bat is handmade from paper pulp and finished with acrylic paint.
He is about 11 cm tall (ears included) and 16 cm wide (including the wings).
The hole in the back is about 1 cm big.
He will be carefully wrapped and packaged before he will be shipped off.
Each and every one of my Mierpapier creations is lovingly handmade with a great amount of care and attention to detail.
I always try to put a little something of myself in each of my paper companions.
